كُوكِي
كَلْبَ صَغِيرً, يُحبُّ اللّعب كَثِيرًا, ذَاتَ يَوْم جَاءَهُ أَرْنُوبُ

لَم يَسْتَطِعْ, لأنهُ لا يعرف القراءة. أعطى كوكي الخِطاب
لِصَدِيقِهِ دَبدوب الَّذِي أَخَذَ يُقَلِّبُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلَكِنَّهُ لَم
يَعْرِفُ كَيْفَ يَقْرَأَهُ, فَهُوَ أَيْضًا لَا يَعْرِفُ القِرَاءَةَ.
قَالَ دَبْدُوبُ: هَيَّا بِنَا نَذْهَبُ إلَى صَدِيقِنَا الهَدْهد،
رُبَّمَا يَسْتَطِيعُ قِرَاءَةَ الخِطاب، وَهُوَ أمِينٌ ذهب كوكي
وَدَبْدُوبُ وَقَابَلَا الهدهد، الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُمَا: إنني ما زلتُ
أَتَعَلَّمُ الْقِرَاءَةَ وَالْكِتَابَةَ، هَيًا نَذْهَبُ إلى المعلم فلا فيلو
لِيَقْرَأَهُ لَنَا ..

وَبِالْفِعْلِ ذَهَبَ كُوكِي إِلَى المَدْرَسَةِ وَتَعَلَّمَ الْقِرَاءَةَ
وَالْكِتَابَةَ، وَبَيْنَمَا كَانَ يَمْشِي في الطريق، وَجَدَ وَرَقَةً
فَالْتَقَطَهَا وَاسْتَطَاعَ قِرَاءَتَهَا، وَكَانَ مَكْتُوبٌ فِيهَا
