The story of the bus puzzle
One day, Abdul Rahman’s school announced a trip to one of the entertainment places outside the city, so he and his classmates decided to go out together on this trip after asking permission from their parents.
The students rode the school bus and the teacher taught them to say “In the name of God” when riding, then thank God
God is great, God is great, God is great. After riding, they then say the supplication of travel
The trip began in the morning, and the bus driver was moving very quickly on the road. When the time for noon prayer came, the bus stopped at the nearest rest stop and they entered the bathrooms to relieve themselves and perform ablution for prayer.
The supervisor did not take off the socks like the rest of the students, but he wiped their backs once. The students were amazed at his doing this, and Abd al-Rahman asked him, “Why didn’t you take off the socks and wash the feet?”
The guide replied: God has permitted us to wipe over the socks instead of washing the feet, and the Messenger of God has appointed us for this wiping for a day and a night for a resident and three days and nights for a traveler.
Abdul Rahman said, Glory be to God, how merciful God is to us. We really need this license, especially in the extreme cold. Praise be to God for easing it for us a lot.
Everyone prayed the noon and afternoon prayers together, shortened two rak'ahs, two rak'ahs with one call to prayer and two iqama, and the supervisor taught them that shortening the prayer is a Sunnah and combining it is a concession for travel.
The supervisor of the trip was reminding the students to think about what they see from the bus window of God’s great creation of mountains, sky, seas, and trees, and to praise God for His wonderful creation.
When the time of sunset approaches, the teacher raises his voice with the evening remembrances and the students repeat after him so that they memorize them and persevere in them.
The sun set and everyone heard the Maghrib call to prayer. Abdul Rahman asked the supervisor, “Will the driver stop so we can pray the Maghrib prayer?” The supervisor replied yes
We will stop, God willing, at the nearest rest stop, and let us know, my beloved, that God Almighty has also permitted us to advance the afternoon prayer, so we pray it at the time of noon, and He has permitted us to advance the evening prayer, so we pray it at the time of sunset, which is what is called combining the introduction. He has also permitted us to delay the noon prayer, so we pray it at the time of the afternoon. We should delay the Maghrib prayer until we pray it at the time of the Isha prayer, and the time for the Isha prayer extends until midnight
The supervisor asked the students: Do you know, my beloved, another permit for travel?
Abdul Rahman raised his hand, and the supervisor allowed him to answer
Abdul Rahman said: We learned from the religious education teacher that it is permissible for a traveler to break the fast in Ramadan, and that if we do not find water, we perform tayammum with dirt, one stroke of the face and one stroke of the hands up to the wrists.
The bus arrived at another rest stop, and it was time for dinner. Everyone performed ablution, but this time they wiped their socks, taking the permission and following the Sunnah of the Prophet.
The bus continued its journey at night, and on the way there was a large tunnel that the bus was approaching, and on it was hung a traffic signal with the number 3 written on it, with an arrow above it and an arrow below it.
One of the students asked about the meaning of this signal, and Abdul Rahman replied: It means the maximum height of the crossing is three meters, and the height of the bus was also three meters.
The driver used to pass under this tunnel every year when they went to this place
The driver was moving at his fastest speed without any worry, but a surprise happened
Suddenly the bus came into contact with the roof of the tunnel while crossing, and then stopped in the middle as a result of this intense friction
The children found the bus stumbling in the middle of the tunnel, and the driver did not know what to do until he passed under it. He said in amazement: “Every year I have easily passed under this tunnel, so what happened this time?”
Abdul Rahman said, turning on the flashlight on his mobile phone and pointing it at the asphalt: “This road has been paved soon, and the new layer of asphalt that was laid is what caused it to rise.”
Everyone started thinking about what to do to get out of this predicament. At first, they tried to push the bus from behind, but the bus did not move. Another bus passed by, so its driver stopped and tried to help them, so he tied the bus with a rope to pull it with his bus outside, but the rope broke because the bus was tightly attached to the roof of the tunnel.
Everyone started thinking about the appropriate solution. Some suggested breaking this layer of asphalt, and others suggested that they call for another bus so that they could continue their journey and leave the bus as it is.
During these unconvincing suggestions, Abdul Rahman spoke and said, “I have the solution.” Everyone listened to him as he continued his words by saying:
If we let out a little air from the bus tires, it will approach the ground and its surface will gradually begin to move away from the roof of the tunnel, and we will cross safely.
Everyone was amazed by Abdul Rahman's wonderful idea, and indeed, when the driver took some air out of the bus's tires, he landed on the ground and they crossed safely.
Abdul Rahman said: God Almighty has commanded us in the Holy Qur’an to lower the wing of the believers, so we must remove from ourselves everything that prevents us from reaching people’s hearts, including bad morals.
We get rid of the swelling of pride and vanity so that we walk on earth humbly and humbly as God-fearing servants of God
The supervisor said: May God increase your understanding and knowledge, O Abdul Rahman, and you should know, my beloved ones, that even a person is characterized by good morals such as generosity, generosity, benevolence, and mercy.
He must get rid of its bad qualities, such as miserliness, arrogance, arrogance, and cruelty, and thus he can pass from the narrow door of poor morals to the expanse of good morals and honor.
