قَالَتْ شَهْرَزَادْ لِلْمَلِكِ شَهْرَيَارٌ : بَلَغَنِي أَيُّهَا الْمَلِكُ السَّعِيدُ،
ذُو الرَّأْيِ الرَّشِيدِ... أَنَّ عَجُوزًا خَبِينًا ذَهَبَ إِلَى مَلِكِ عَظِيمٍ
لِيَخْطُبَ ابْنَتَهُ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ التَّخَلُّصَ مِنِ ابْنِهِ الْأَمِيرِ الشُّجَاعَ
لِيَنْفَرِدَ بِحُكْمِ الْبِلَادِ... وَقَدَّمَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمَلِكِ هَدِيَّةٌ عَجِيبَةً
عِبَارَةٌ عَنْ حِصَانٍ أَسْوَدَ مِنْ خَشَبِ الْأَبَنُوسِ...

عِبَارَةٌ عَنْ حِصَانٍ أَسْوَدَ مِنْ خَشَبِ الْأَبَنُوسِ...
انْبَهَرَ الْجَمِيعُ مِنَ الْحِصَانِ الْأَبَنُوسِ خَاصَّةً بَعْدَ أَنْ عَرِفُوا
مِنَ الْعَجُوزِ أَنَّهُ يَطِيرُ بِمُجَرَّدِ أَنْ يَدُوسَ عَلَى الزِّرِّ الْأَيْمَنِ
برَقَبَتِهِ ... أَسْرَعَ الْأَمِيرُ وَرَكِبَ الْحِصَانَ وَدَاسَ عَلَى الزَّرَ
الْأَيْمَنِ فَطَارَ بِهِ بَعِيدًا وَارْتَفَعَ وَطَافَ الْبِلَادَ وَالْأَمِيرُ مَنْهُورٌ
بِمَا يُشَاهِدُهُ حَتَّى رَأَى قَصْرًا مَنِيفًا فِي بِلَادِ الْيَمَنِ فَدَاسَ عَلَى
الزِّرِّ الْأَيْسَرِ فَهَبَطَ الْحِصَانُ الْأَبَنُوسُ عَلَى سَطْحِ الْقَصْرِ ..
مِنَ الْعَجُوزِ أَنَّهُ يَطِيرُ بِمُجَرَّدِ أَنْ يَدُوسَ عَلَى الزِّرِّ الْأَيْمَنِ
برَقَبَتِهِ ... أَسْرَعَ الْأَمِيرُ وَرَكِبَ الْحِصَانَ وَدَاسَ عَلَى الزَّرَ
الْأَيْمَنِ فَطَارَ بِهِ بَعِيدًا وَارْتَفَعَ وَطَافَ الْبِلَادَ وَالْأَمِيرُ مَنْهُورٌ
بِمَا يُشَاهِدُهُ حَتَّى رَأَى قَصْرًا مَنِيفًا فِي بِلَادِ الْيَمَنِ فَدَاسَ عَلَى
الزِّرِّ الْأَيْسَرِ فَهَبَطَ الْحِصَانُ الْأَبَنُوسُ عَلَى سَطْحِ الْقَصْرِ ..
هَبَطَ الْأَمِيرُ مِنْ سَطْحِ الْقَصْرِ مُتَجَوِّلًا بَيْنَ أَزْوِقَتِهِ ... حَتَّى
لَمَحَ الْأَمِيرَةَ الْجَمِيلَةَ بِنْتَ مَلِكِ الْيَمَنِ فَاقْتَرَبَ مِنْ حُجْرَتِهَا
لَكِنَّ الْحَارِسَ كَانَ لَهُ بِالْمِرْصَادِ فَهَجَمَ عَلَيْهِ لَكِنَّ الْأَمِيرَ
الشُّجَاعَ بَاغَتَهُ بِضَرْبَةٍ مَنَعَتْهُ مِنَ الْحَرَكَةِ وَلَمْ تَقْتُلُهُ
أُعْجِبَتِ الْأَمِيرَةُ بِشَجَاعَتِهِ وَوَسَامَتِهِ وَاطْمَأَنَتْ لَهُ حِينَ
طَلَبَ زَوَاجَهَا ...
لَمَحَ الْأَمِيرَةَ الْجَمِيلَةَ بِنْتَ مَلِكِ الْيَمَنِ فَاقْتَرَبَ مِنْ حُجْرَتِهَا
لَكِنَّ الْحَارِسَ كَانَ لَهُ بِالْمِرْصَادِ فَهَجَمَ عَلَيْهِ لَكِنَّ الْأَمِيرَ
الشُّجَاعَ بَاغَتَهُ بِضَرْبَةٍ مَنَعَتْهُ مِنَ الْحَرَكَةِ وَلَمْ تَقْتُلُهُ
أُعْجِبَتِ الْأَمِيرَةُ بِشَجَاعَتِهِ وَوَسَامَتِهِ وَاطْمَأَنَتْ لَهُ حِينَ
طَلَبَ زَوَاجَهَا ...
شَعَرَ الْأَمِيرُ بِجَلَبَةِ الْحَرَسِ يَقْتَرِبُونَ مِنْ حُجْرَةِ الْأَمِيرَةِ
فَبَارَزَهُمْ حَتَّى عَجَزُوا عَنِ الْحَرَاكِ ... وَصَعِدَ بِالْأَمِيرَةِ إِلَى
سَطْحِ الْقَصْرِ وَرَكِبَا الْحِصَانَ الْأَبَنُوسَ وَارْتَفَعَا بِهِ وَالْمَزِيدُ
مِنَ الْحَرَسِ يُطَارِدُونَهُ فَطَارَ إِلَى بِلَادِهِ ... لِيَأْخُذَ مُوَافَقَةً أَبِيهِ
عَلَى الزَّوَاجِ مِنَ الْأَمِيرَةِ.
فَبَارَزَهُمْ حَتَّى عَجَزُوا عَنِ الْحَرَاكِ ... وَصَعِدَ بِالْأَمِيرَةِ إِلَى
سَطْحِ الْقَصْرِ وَرَكِبَا الْحِصَانَ الْأَبَنُوسَ وَارْتَفَعَا بِهِ وَالْمَزِيدُ
مِنَ الْحَرَسِ يُطَارِدُونَهُ فَطَارَ إِلَى بِلَادِهِ ... لِيَأْخُذَ مُوَافَقَةً أَبِيهِ
عَلَى الزَّوَاجِ مِنَ الْأَمِيرَةِ.
وَصَلَ الْأَمِيرُ إِلَى حَدِيقَةِ قَصْرِهِ وَتَرَكَهَا لِيُعِدَّ لَهَا مَوْكِبًا يَلِيقُ
بِهَا لِتَدْخُلَ الْقَصْرَ في عِزَّةٍ وَاحْتِرَام ... فَقَابَلَهَا الْعَجُونُ
الْخَبِيثُ وَقَدْ عَرَفَهَا ... وَأَقْنَعَهَا بِأَنَّ الْأَمِيرَ يَنْتَظِرُهَا بَعِيدًا
فَرَكِبَتْ مَعَهُ الْحِصَانَ لِبَلْحَقَا بِالْأَمِيرِ... لَكِنَّ الْعَجُونَ أَعَادَهَا
بَيْنَ يَدَيْ مَلِكِ الْيَمَنِ وَقَدْ كَانَ قَلِقًا
لِغِيَابِ الْأَمِيرَةِ فَأَقْنَعَهُ أَنَّ أَمِيرًا اخْتَطَفَهَا لَكِنَّهُ اسْتَطَاعَ إِعَادَنَهَا
وَالدَّفَاعَ عَنْهَا ... وَطَلَبَ زَوَاجَهَا مِنَ الْمَلِكِ !!!

بِهَا لِتَدْخُلَ الْقَصْرَ في عِزَّةٍ وَاحْتِرَام ... فَقَابَلَهَا الْعَجُونُ
الْخَبِيثُ وَقَدْ عَرَفَهَا ... وَأَقْنَعَهَا بِأَنَّ الْأَمِيرَ يَنْتَظِرُهَا بَعِيدًا
فَرَكِبَتْ مَعَهُ الْحِصَانَ لِبَلْحَقَا بِالْأَمِيرِ... لَكِنَّ الْعَجُونَ أَعَادَهَا
بَيْنَ يَدَيْ مَلِكِ الْيَمَنِ وَقَدْ كَانَ قَلِقًا
لِغِيَابِ الْأَمِيرَةِ فَأَقْنَعَهُ أَنَّ أَمِيرًا اخْتَطَفَهَا لَكِنَّهُ اسْتَطَاعَ إِعَادَنَهَا
وَالدَّفَاعَ عَنْهَا ... وَطَلَبَ زَوَاجَهَا مِنَ الْمَلِكِ !!!

عَلِمَتِ الْأَمِيرَةُ بِأَمْرِ خِطْبَتِهَا لِلْعَجُوزِ الْبَشِعِ الْمَنْظَرِ فَأُغْشِيَ
عَلَيْهَا وَمَرِضَتْ... وَأَصَابَهَا الْغَمُ وَالْكَمَدُ فَصَامَتْ عَن
الطَّعَامِ وَالْكَلَامِ... حَزِنَ الْمَلِكُ عَلَيْهَا وَطَلَبَ لَهَا كُلَّ
الْحُكَمَاءِ وَالْأَطِباءِ فَاحْتَارَ الْجَمِيعُ فِي أَمْرِهَا وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا
لَهَا دَوَاءً ...

وَدَخَلَ عَلَى الْمَلِكِ مَائِلًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَعَرَضَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يُعَالِجَ
الْأَمِيرَةَ... دَخَلَ الْأَمِيرُ عَلَيْهَا وَحَدَّثَهَا فَعَرَفَتْهُ مِنْ صَوْتِهِ
فَتَيَقَّطَتْ مَسْرُورَةً وَأَقْبَلَتْ عَلَى الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ حَتَّى
اسْتَرَدَّتْ صِحتَهَا ..
وَدَخَلَ عَلَى الْمَلِكِ مَائِلًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَعَرَضَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يُعَالِجَ
الْأَمِيرَةَ... دَخَلَ الْأَمِيرُ عَلَيْهَا وَحَدَّثَهَا فَعَرَفَتْهُ مِنْ صَوْتِهِ
فَتَيَقَّطَتْ مَسْرُورَةً وَأَقْبَلَتْ عَلَى الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ حَتَّى
اسْتَرَدَّتْ صِحتَهَا ..
فَهِمَ الْعَجُوزُ الشِّرِّيرُ خُدْعَةَ الْأَمِيرِ وَأَخْبَرَ الْمَلِكَ بِأَنَّ هَذَا
الطّبيب هُوَ الشَّابُ الَّذِي خَطَفَ ابْنَتَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ ... غَضِبَ
الْمَلِكُ وَثَارَ وَأَمَرَ الْحَرَسَ بِالْقَبْضِ عَلَيْهِ...
صَحِبَ الْأَمِيرُ الْأَمِيرَةَ وَرَكِبَا الْحِصَانَ الْأَبْنُوسَ وَطَارَا بِهِ *

بَعِيدًا وَأُقِيمَتِ الْأَفْرَاحُ فِي بَلَدِي الْأَمِيرِ وَالْأَمِيرَةِ ابْتِهَاجًا
بِزَوَاجِهِمَا ...

بَعِيدًا وَأُقِيمَتِ الْأَفْرَاحُ فِي بَلَدِي الْأَمِيرِ وَالْأَمِيرَةِ ابْتِهَاجًا
بِزَوَاجِهِمَا ...
