هذَا هُوَ مَلك الغابة الشرِّيرُ. الذي يَظْلِمُ الْحَيَوَانَات
وَلَا يَحْكُمُ بِالْعَدْلِ بَيْنَهُمْ. أَمَّا ابْنُ عَمَّه فَهُوَ أَسَدٌ طَيَّب.
حِبُّ الْجَميعَ, وَالْجَمِيعُ يُحبُّونَهُ, وَيَتَمَنَّوْنَ أَنْ يَكُونَ
هُوَ مَلكُهُمْ بَدَلًا من ابْن عَمِّه الشِّرِّير.
أَخَذَ الْحَيَوَانَاتُ يُفَكِّرُونَ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ ثُمَّ ذَهَبُوا إِلَى
الأَسَد الطَّيِّب وَقَالُوا لَهُ : لَقَدْ تَوَصَّلْنَا إِلَى خُطَّةٌ لِتُصْبِحَ
أَنْتَ مَلكَ الْغَابَة, عنْدَ ذَلكَ شَكَرَهُمُ الأسَدُ الطَّيِّبُ.
بَدَأَ الْحَيَوَانَاتُ في تنفيذ خُطَّتهمْ, فَذَهَبَ الدَّبَّ وَمَعَهُ
بَعْضُ الْحَيَوَانَات إِلَى مَلك الْغَابَة الشَّرِّير, وَقَالَ لَهُ
الدُّبُّ أَرْجُو أَنْ تَتَقَبَّلَ حَدِيثَنَا إِلَيْكَ فَقَالَ الأَسَدُ الشِّرِّيرُ :
مَاذَا تُريدُونَ أَيُّهَا الدُّب؟
ـالَ الدُّبَّ الْحَيَوَانَات يَتَّهمُونَكَ بِأَنَّكَ ضَعِيفٌ، وَأَنَّ ابْنَ
عَمِّكَ أَقْوَى مِنْكَ, وَنَحْنُ جِئْنَا لِتُثْبِتَ قَوَّتَكَ أمَامَ الْجَمِيع
غَضِبَ الْأَسَدُ
الْأَسَدُ سَآمُرُ بقَتْلُكُمْ عَلَى هَذَا الْكَلَام وَعَادَ يُفَكِّرُ
بِسُرْعَةِ وَلَكِنْ إِذَا أَمَرْتُ بِقَتْلِهِمْ فَسَأَثْبِتُ للجَميع أَنَّني
ثُمَّ عَادَ يَقُولُ للدُّيّ : وَمَاذَا تُرِيدُونَني أَنَّ أَفْعَلَ
أَثْبِتَ قَوَّتي؟
فَقَالَ لَهُ الدَبَّ: يُوجد فَرْعُ شَجَرَةٍ قَوِيٌّ مَنْ مِنْكُمَا أَنْتَ
وَابْنُ عَمِّكَ يَسْتَطِعْ كَسْرَهُ, يَكنْ هُوَ الْأَقْوَى وَيُصْبِحْ مَلِكًا
للغابة ذَهَبَ الْمَلكُ الشِّرِّيرُ مَعَ الدُّبِّ وَبَاقِي الْحَيَوَانَات
إلَى فَرْع الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَخَذَ يُحاوِلُ كَسْرَهُ وَلَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ
ثُمَّ قَالَ للْحَيَوَانَاتِ أَيْنَ ابْنُ عَمِّي؟
فقَالَ لَهُ الْقَرْدُ : لَقَدْ تَرَكَ لَكَ الفَرْصَة لكَسْرِه هَذَا الْيَوْمَ.
وَغَدًا سَيَكُونُ دَوْرهُ عَادَ مَلكُ الْغَابَة, وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لنَفْسه:
ابْنُ عَمِّي لَنْ يَسْتَطِيعَ كَسْرَ هَذَا الْفَرْعِ الْقَوِيِّ. وَسَأَظَلُّ
أَنَا مَلَكَ الْغَابَةُ وَفي الليل
ذَهَبَ نَقَارُ الْخَشَبِ وَأَخَذَ يَنظُرُ فِي بَاطِن فَرعَ الشَّجَرَةَ
القوي حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ مُجَوْفًا ضَعِيفًا. ثُمَّ غَطّى هَذَا التَّجْوِيفَ
بقطَّعَة مِنَ الْخَشَب وَالأعْشَابِ فِي
الْيَوْمِ التّالي وأَخَذَ الأَسَدُ الطَّيِّبُ
يَضْرِبُ فَرْعَ الشَّجَرَة بيَدَيْه حَتَّى كَسَرَهُ.
فَرِحَ جَمِيعُ الْحَيَوَانَاتِ وَأَخَذُوا يُهَنِّئُونَ الْمَلكَ الطَّيِّبَ
فِي
حِينِ مَشَى الأَسَدُ الشِّرِّيرُ بَعِيدًا, وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لنَفْسه:
كَانَ لَابُدَّ أَنْ أَتَأَكَّدَ أَنَّ الشَّرَّ َ لَا يَسْتَمِرُّ أَبَدًا وَأَنَّ الْجَمِيعَ
يُحبُّونَ الْمَلَكَ الْعَادِلَ وَيَفْرَحُونَ بِوُجُوده.
